Listening Is Key

Pierre Loury, 16. | Photo from Facebook pagePierre Loury was shot and killed on April 11th. He shot by an Officer because of the way his car looked. The officer assumed it was the car that was apart of an earlier shooting that day. He got out the car ran to jump over a fence but was shot in the attempt. Keep in mind he is 16 in the car alone, illegal. The problem this time is listen. If he was to stop the car during the car chase he wouldn't be dead. Black parents fail to see both sides of the story when it comes to officers. Most young be die because they feel as if they don't have to listen to the authority. Pierre wouldn't have ran from the officer if he felt innocent but clearly he had something or done something that was going to get him arrested. As an African American, male mostly, you should listen to authority because the world we live in is already racist and you being disobedient gives them a better reason to fire at you. Following instructions are will lower the death of young black boys but this has to be sit in place at home as well.  So from now on we LISTEN to authority even if you haven't done anything.

Gun Violence The New Trend?

Image result for st sabina memorial wallThis generation is built off trends. Trends are everything from the way one acts to the way one dress but guns have become the new trend. How are guns a trend? Guns are now a common thing in the black community. Using the gun is just a game we play now. Camiella has lost 23 people to gun violence in the past 12 years. She lost her father and she begin to fight in the third grade. She bought her first gun the sixth grade after she lost a friend. A little kid shouldn't have to feel the need to buy a gun to feel safe and she is now 28 years old still dealing with the same pain from when she was younger. Kids shouldn't have deal with the same thing as her so she wants to make a change. Chicago isn't getting any better because this generation doesn't care about anyone but themselves and if your in their way, no doubt, you won't be there for long. This generation just need to wake up and change this for the next so they won't have to deal with the same pain. The new trend is to removing guns from everyday life.

The Truth Hurts

Zarriel Trotter, 13 year old, spoke in a video about the violence in Chicago. He wasn't the target but he was standing on the sidewalk when the shots were fired. Two gangs were arguing and one pulled out a gun.  Violence don't solve every problem as a matter of fact it doesn't solve anything. The argument could've been that serious and if you're going to use the gun have aim. Their shouldn't be innocent victims killed or gun downed because you want to be immature. At some point in time this has to stop not just for the kids but for everyone. Ironic how Zarriel was jus talking about our violence problem and is wounded a few days later. Shootings have been off the charts and the years has just started. The world needs more people like Zarriel to ensure some sort of change. Put the guns downs.
