It Starts At Home

The root of the problem is in the household. One can't want to make things better in society if your house is doing the opposite. If one allows there kid to do whatever he/she wants they will go into the world with that same outlook. Kids are like sponges they soak up everything they hear. One can't be in the house talking about guns, drugs, killing without a child doing the same. Once it's talked about it starts to be repeated and pretending. Than killing each other becomes ok because they are "opps" or your gang don't argue with them and now you're running the cops and if one gets caught you are being gunned down. A few hours after that, your moms on the crying trying to down play your actions. Their favorite line "all he wanted to do is play basketball. He went to school and never do nothing to nobody".  Moral of the story, parents watch your conversations around your kids and watch them. Kids shouldn't have to die because their parents are careless. Start at home with the problem.

Child Safety

A shooting, this morning at 9:33, took place near a daycare where the children were luckily napping during the shooting. Four people were wounded but those people aren't the importance of the story, the kids are. I understand the fact that as a member of a team you have to be with them no matter what because yall started together so yall gotta end as one. The gang related one I really don't understand. Being a holder of a deadly weapon, one should be cautious of how they act. Shooting in front of daycare is careless and disrespectful because what if they were not napping but up and playing and most importantly what if that was your family. Sadly, we have come to a time where nowhere is safe anymore. Things are different and not in a good way. One can't even be indoor and feel keep safe. This was a wake up care because losing a very young child to reckless, immature shooting is no way to die. Of all places why the daycare, sometimes things have to happen from someone to get a better understanding of problems.

Two On One

Martel Anderson, 16 year old student of Orr Academy, was shoot February 3 at 8:40 in the morning walking to school. He was shot in the face when two 2 men approached him with guns. Martel was known to be a very quiet kid and wasn't known to be a gang member. The million dollar question is why? Their is more to the story than what they are giving us because the pieces aren't right. Orr isn't the best school to attended and well know for fights , gang related activities and all "ghetto" black kids. Their had to be something he did to someone to have his life on the line but that's besides the point. Why is it that we feel it is ok to kill each other but let a white person dare try it, we start a riot. We can't want to make change in the black community if we continue to kill each other. People fail to realize that you shouldn't do to others what you wouldn't want done to you or your family. It's sad that guns are the first answer to solving problems in the black community. This boy may have meant nothing to you but to someone else he means the world and now their world has came to an end.

Why Does Black Lives Matter?

The purpose of this page? This page isn't here to make others feel like black people are more important, honestly. This page main is to draw awareness to lives been taken in the black community everyday and it is mostly young people. We can't continue like this because the kids dying could be the kids that change the world. As a young kid, walking home everyday alone you worry not just about the police but gang violence as well. The Black Lives Matter project is just a small step in the right direction. Everyone needs to know that the black community struggles and some support. This page may go into the lack of credit black people are given, it is the reason we are having these problems in the community, but the main focus is to bring change to this world. Maybe change will come but we need all efforts. The first step is to admitting there is a problem and action will take it's course.
