This One Special Month
What so important about February? This one "special" month was dedicated to African American History just 28 days and yet there is 365 days is a years, less than 8% of a year. You're probably wondering why any of this matter. The fight that African Americans fought shouldn't be smushed into one month which even isn't a whole month. They shouldn't be acknowledged just for one month and we only speak of the known people. Unsung Hero, their are thousands of them and yet we only force our kids on three main people. Some school don't even celebrate this month. I'm sure every hero from then would prefer to not have a special month at all than to have one month that is barely referred to. I wouldn't want to have this month at all because fighting for my rights being abused, segregated, disrespected and belittle wasn't done to get respect for one month. It was done to empower black children and be taught in class, EQUAlITY. Every war or gaining power movement is taught other than the Civil Rights and so on. The caucasian man history is taught in every grade and every year, never fails, and slavery/segregation is skipped most time. Ask your teacher about this. Respect for one month we will pass.

Inapropriate?
Beyonce's performance at the Super Bowl was considered disrespectful because the message she was giving off was black empowerment. She was singing her new single "Formation" with her backup dancers wearing something similar (little) to the Black Panthers. While Beyonce resembles Michael Jackson. The Super Bowl was in February which is the same month of Black History Month. When you think about it there was really no problem with it. Also there is no lyric in her song that relates to the Black Lives Matter Project but if there was, no one should be bashing her performance. It was the perfect time to acknowledge that, if those were her intentions, because millions of people watch the Super Bowl. That one performance brought it to their attention in a glance. If you haven't noticed, nothing was brought up about Black History Month; in fact schools don't even bring it up anymore. Her performance is slowly making a change in the black community and there are a lot of problems going in the black community right now so that was well needed. So thanks to Beyonce for bring it to everyone's attention because black importance is starting to fade away.
