New Year, Same Actions

Image result for how many shootings in chicago in 2016In the first 10 days of the New Year, 110 people were shot and 17 were killed and this is just in Chicago itself. Everyone wants to say "put the guns down" but no one wants to actually do anything about it. Saying and doing is two different things. You want change and not enforcing it won't make things better. Life isn't just about dreaming what you want but actually going to get what you want. There needs to be someone to lead this group into the right direction. Someone that's actually going to put effort into change. It's saddens people to know that the year has just started and shooting numbers are high. Black Lives Matters teams to make bigger and better decisions to attack this problem. We can't continue this year like this or it will be more worse than 2014 shootings in Chicago. Entertainment

Jada Pinkett Smith wanted to boycott the Oscars and everyone had an opinion. Stacey Dash had something to say, “I think it’s ludicrous. Because we have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don’t want segregation then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the [NAACP] Image Awards, where you are only awarded if you are black.” Although this isn't about gun violence, it supports the idea of black importance. She also say we shouldn't have a Black History Month. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but you shouldn't let your opinion bring down the significance of history or independence that people have fought for. Everything that is only for black people is because they are failed to be acknowledge. It isn't done to hurt other races but than again there has been many people nominated and won BET Awards and Image Awards that weren't black.  It was also years before blacks were allowed or nominated for Oscars. The only reason this is a problem because people want to see black people fail. Other people hate to see people that intimate them succeed. Black people begin to believe the things and drop out of school to be a nobody on the streets. That's why little boys and girls end up died. The point is, when people aren't recognize they find a way to be and that's why black people have their own things.

Black on Black Crime

About a week ago, two teens were gun downed due to gang violence. Sakinah Reed, 17, was shot twice in her chest. Dontay Parker, 16, was shot in the head.  Anthony Murphy, 10th grade, was charged as an adult with no bail. It's not just police officers who are killing black people but it's also us. We have to blame for the way we are treated by officers. If we disrespect ourselves in your own community others will think they can do the same thing. As black people, they need to build a better bond with each other because their is no way in the world a 15-16 had to feel the need to go out and do a drive by killing two young teenagers.  To prevent this immature act, that the black parents allow, it needs to start at home and transfer it into the community. Without a change within them; there won't be a change in how they are treated around the world. Be more aware of your child's life and take part in there lives to help improve their lives.

Tamir Rice

Although, this may have happened years ago this little boy has failed to receive justice. Tamir, 12 years old, was in the park playing with a toy gun. The officer was called by a neighbor and they assumed it was real. Loehmann , the officer, just arrived to the scene and fired without really checking out the situation. Some may say he shouldn't have it in the first place, that's not true. As a child you are allowed to explore your imagination and if that includes a fake gun than so be it. We shouldn't be judge on how to express your imagination. The officer was completely wrong because as a citizens to work for the government you taught how to handle every problem the safest way. There is no way in the world he took that boy as a threat because the way our minds are setup it impact how we take a threat.
